A Peek Into New York Bridal Fashion Week—2016 Bridal Trends

In the fast paced world of New York City the runway becomes a haven where new collections flit and float past as if dancing in a ballet. These graceful garments leave us in a heavenly daydream and we eagerly wish to hurry home to share the new trends with our brides.

The trends this season make my heart flutter with excitement. I am still in awe of the lovely looks we saw twirling about. I swooned seeing the vintage inspired looks that had the perfect hint of modern flare. Think, Old Hollywood inspired silhouettes meet luxurious soft silk fabrics, delicate beading and modern detachable overskirts.

Removable skirts were a unique and welcomed surprise. One of our favorites was a sheer tulle skirt from Theia (see below). These overskirts are a great way to achieve different looks throughout your special day without going over budget. We love pairing this tulle skirt with a fully beaded Gatsby-esque sheath. The sheer layers of the skirt allow subtle hints of sparkle to glisten through. Wearing a soft romantic skirt for the ceremony then removing it to reveal a stunning new look for the reception is an idea worth celebrating in our opinion!

If you prefer a minimalist approach, we’re happy to share the next modern trend. Chic sheaths and unadorned satin dresses anchored many of the collections. These dresses are sure to let you shine on your wedding day. We love the options from Jenny Yoo who completed some of her sheaths with delicate capeletes (see below) and romantic lace appliqués.

One of the most refreshing and inspiring trends were 3D appliqués. Sarah Janks left us in awe with her Evaline dress (see below). This ivory beauty is adorned with pretty petals and delicate beading. 3D appliqués create texture that give a unique and truly romantic look.

From vintage inspiration to breathtaking modern designs (and everything in-between) we are so in love with the gowns we’ve chosen in New York for our beautiful brides. We’re excited to share these unique beauties and show you why we love what we do!
